How do you create a folder in Lotus Notes?
To create a personal folder in Lotus Notes, you must have at least Reader access to the database. No other can delete your personal folders. For creating shared folders, at least Editor access and option “Create shared folders/views” must be enabled in Access Control List.

Steps to create a folder
- Chose or open the database where you wish to create the folder.
- Choose Create – Folder from the menu
- Enter the name of the folder in the create folder dialogue box
- Select folders from the location field to create a new folder in the navigation pane. To create a subfolder, select the name of the folder from the location field. When the new subfolder is created, you will find the subfolder under the folder you selected.

- Use the default view or folder of the current database for the folder new design.
- For different types or styles, click on the advanced button.

- Select or change the type in the Folder type list.
- Click on ‘Copy from’ button and select the style of an existing folder. Choose Blank, if you do not want to copy a style from any folder.
- You can create a customized folder by click on “Save and Customize” button.
